The mere fact of enrolling in a program of study does not guarantee that the student will be successful in the program. To complete theprogram and your final transcript to be submitted to the Virginia Nursing Board upon graduation, the student must:
1. Ensuring successful completion of the curriculum by attaining a minimum grade of 80% or higher in each course of study.
2. Achieving a satisfactory outcome for each clinical course.
3. It is essential to demonstrate satisfactory attendance, with a minimum of 90% of participants attending each course.
4. Ensuring successful completion of the specified Standardized Comprehensive Examinations (SCE) at the level specified in the integrated nursing concepts course syllabus.
5. After completing all program content, the Integrated Nursing Review course will be scheduled with either ATI, Kaplan, or HESI for a live review lasting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. over two days for each resource. It is the responsibility of the Program Director (DON) or their designated representative to schedule students for the retake exam. Additionally, the DON or their representative will monitor the progress of students retaking the exam, ensuring they do not exceed the allowable period of 90 days from the end of the course. Students will have two attempts at the integrated comprehensive exit exam.
6. A student who fails any examination will receive an incomplete grade for the course. They will be required to enroll in a remediation course and retake the failed exam within three months. This approach can help ensure that students have the opportunity to grasp the necessary concepts before moving forward.
7. Remediation materials will be implemented either on U-World, ATI, Kaplan, NLN, or Hesi and this will be implemented by the Program Director. Each repeater student must score a grade of 80 % or higher on the exit examination.
Additional requirements for successful completion of the course are detailed in the course syllabus.
8. Students who fail to pass all three examinations within the said period will be required to attend a refresher course by re-enrolling in Medical-Surgical Nursing and the Integrated Nursing review.
9. Additional requirements for successful completion of the course are detailed in the course syllabus.
